Drinking alcohol during the first three months increases the risk of miscarriage, premature birth and low birth weight. Alcohol consumption after 3 months could affect your baby after they are born. Drinking heavily throughout pregnancy can cause your baby to develop a serious condition called foetal alcohol syndrome
